The default image section includes the properties used for creating textures, such as the default background color and the alpha layer.
The fill color option determines the default color for newly created textures. Clicking on this option opens a color wheel, allowing you to select a custom color.
The alpha channel is not generated unless the use alpha option is enabled, even if the alpha value is set below one.
The fill color is only visible on the textures when using a low margin size and having empty spaces between the UV islands of the object.
The fill color won't be visible on the 3D object unless the texture is baked with a margin size of zero.
When the alpha option is enabled, the textures will be created with an alpha channel. The opacity of the alpha channel is determined by the fill color's alpha value.
The alpha channel's opacity won't affect the baked textures' opacity, it will only be relevant in the areas of the textures where nothing was baked.
