A guide to troubleshooting some of the most common issues.
The most likely issue is the UV map. Ensure the correct target UV map is set, the target UV is properly unwrapped, and there are no overlapping areas.
The easiest way to improve the quality of the textures is to adjust their scale and bake them at a higher resolution. Another method is to ensure the object's UV map is properly unwrapped with minimal empty space on the texture. If you can't improve the UV map or increase the texture size, consider using UDIM textures.
The noisiness of the baked textures depends on the texture maps and the sampling settings. While many bake maps don’t require a high sampling count for good results, some do, and node-based maps also depend on the sampling settings when a sampling-dependent node is used. To reduce the noise level in the baked textures, increase the sampling rate, try doubling it or test what works best. Additionally, you can also adjust the denoise settings.
Make sure the objects are selected before enabling the preview. Then, ensure the shading is set to either Material Preview or Rendered. If the preview still isn't as expected, switch the render engine to Cycles.
When the items in the bake map menu are vertically aligned, it’s because Blender automatically adjusts these menus when the items don’t fit horizontally on the screen.
To resolve this issue, you can either scale the Blender's interface or disable some bake maps to ensure they all fit into the menu horizontally.
